OUR STORY

Hashpoint Surf Camp has been part of Taghazout's surf community since the very beginning — long before surf tourism had a name here.

Abdellah caught his first wave at 15, growing up in the same house that would one day become Hashpoint. His father built it. The family slowly opened their doors to surfers and backpackers passing through, and something quietly took root.

After finishing his English Literature studies at 25, he opened the surf shop. Each year, he made it a little better. A little more his own. In 2009, the business became official — and the name chose itself. Hashpoint was the only surf guesthouse at the Hashpoint break. It felt right.

Then 2013 brought something unexpected. Sophie arrived in Morocco on a six-month exchange, discovered a love for surfing — and for Abdellah. Originally from the Netherlands, where she studied Fashion and Branding, Sophie has a sharp eye for detail, a talent for design, and a gift for making spaces feel like home. Together, they built something neither could have done alone.

Surf packages launched. The guesthouse grew. Guests arrived from every corner of the world and left feeling like they'd found their people.

We started with a few. Today we have a full team — and two surf grommets of our own, who will be the first to welcome you when you arrive.

Community at the Heart

Sustainability starts with people — and at Hashpoint, those people have names, faces, and roots that run deep in this village.

Abdellah was born here. Just like more than 95% of our team — ( over 20 people). They grew up in Taghazout or the villages nearby. Many have been with us for years. When you arrive, you're not just checking into a place. You're stepping into a community.

The eggs on your plate were delivered by a local who has been doing his rounds in this village his whole life. The fish was caught by some of the best local fishermen on this stretch of coast. We partner with local shapers, women-led collectives, and surf brands — people who grew up on these same streets and share the same pride in this place.

We also work alongside the Taghazout Board Riders club and Surf Tawam, supporting surf education for local kids — boys and girls — giving them access to the ocean that has always been on their doorstep.
Last year, we participated in the Taghazout Surf expo with our stand and community talks.

Every wave, every meal, every handshake is a small
way of giving back. Taghazout has given us so much. We want to make sure the village — and the people who make it — thrive right alongside us.

SustaINABLE CHOICEs

The little choices inside these walls add up to something bigger.

Your hot shower runs on sunshine. Solar energy powers every drop — clean, renewable, and guilt-free.

Plastic bottles and takeaway lunch boxes? We left those behind. Unlimited refills of purified water, straight from our dispensers to your glass — no single-use packaging, ever.

Nothing leaves Hashpoint as waste. Kitchen scraps become feed for the goats and chickens on our small family farm in the hills above Taghazout.

No air conditioning — and you won't miss it. We sit steps from the ocean, and every night she sends
a refreshing breeze through your room. No thermostat needed. Nature does it better anyway.
